I was asked to post this piece that I used in church on the 4th Sunday in Advent. It is an imaginative piece of writing by the Rev Carter Shelley. It captures beautifully I think something of the human story that lies behind the all too familiar gospel narrative. I include my prayer - written in response to these words.
